1: How does Scrut discover my cloud assets?

When you integrate your cloud accounts to Scrut, the system automatically:

  • Scans your connected cloud accounts to identify all supported services

  • Assigns each discovered resource to the appropriate asset category

  • Regularly syncs to keep your inventory up-to-date

  • Creates a unified multi-cloud view across all your providers

2: Does Scrut support multi-cloud environments?

Yes! Scrut unifies assets from AWS, Azure, and GCP under consistent categories. For example, AWS EC2 instances, Azure Virtual Machines, and GCP Compute Engine instances all fall under the "Virtual Machines" category. This makes it easier to manage multi-cloud environments.

3: What AWS compute resources can Scrut automatically discover?

Virtual Machines:

  • EMR Clusters (Elastic MapReduce for big data)

  • EC2 Instances (virtual servers)

  • AMIs (Amazon Machine Images)

Serverless Functions:

  • Lambda Functions

4: What AWS storage and database services can Scrut automatically discover?

Object Storage category includes:

  • DynamoDB Tables (NoSQL database)

  • RDS Instances and Snapshots (relational databases)

  • Redshift Clusters (data warehouses)

Yes! AWS Lambda Functions and Azure equivalents would appear in the same asset management views, though Azure Functions (if added as App Service) may appear under Containers. Serverless functions are grouped in the "Serverless Functions" category.

20: How do I find all my databases across different cloud providers?

Look in the "Object Storage" category, which includes databases from all providers: AWS RDS, Azure SQL Database, GCP Cloud SQL, and more.

21: Can I see all my encryption keys across cloud providers?

Yes, all encryption keys from AWS KMS, Azure Key Vault, and GCP KMS appear under the "Key Management" category.

22: How do I track all user accounts across my cloud environments?

Check the "Users" category, which consolidates IAM users from AWS, Azure AD, and GCP IAM in one place.

23: Can I manually add assets from unsupported services?

Yes! You can manually add any asset and assign it to the most appropriate category, even if it's not automatically discovered. Use the "Add Asset" feature and select "Manually."

24: I have custom or on-premise infrastructure. Can Scrut manage it?

Yes, you can manually add on-premise or custom infrastructure as assets. Add them manually and assign them to the appropriate category (e.g., Virtual Machines, Object Storage) for consistent management and compliance tracking.
