How to Add a Vendor

Prev Next

The Vendor module lets you build and maintain a centralized inventory of all third-party vendors your organization works with. Scrut offers multiple ways to add vendors:

  • Via Integrations: Any tool you connect to Scrut via the Integrations page is automatically added as a vendor in your vendor table.

  • Discover Vendors through SSO Integration: By connecting Scrut with your organization's SSO provider — Google Workspace or Azure AD — Scrut automatically fetches all the apps in use across your organization. This is particularly useful for surfacing shadow IT or tools that weren't formally procured.

  • Vendor Onboarding via Intake Form: You can collect vendor information directly from employees using a Vendor Intake Form. Employees submit intake requests for vendors they want to use via the Employee Portal, and you can review and assess each submission in Scrut.

  • Add Vendors Manually: For vendors not covered by the above methods, you can add them manually by entering the relevant details directly. This gives you full flexibility to onboard any vendor, regardless of size or category.

Not sure which method to use?

For most organizations, a combination works best — integrations and SSO discovery handle the bulk of your vendor inventory automatically, while manual entry and intake forms fill in the gaps.

Note:

As Scrut is a vendor for your organization providing compliance automation services, it is by default added to the vendor table.
