Integrate Brevo

Learn how to connect your Brevo (formerly Sendinblue) account with Scrut.

What This Integration Does in Scrut

  • User Access Data: Fetches user details, roles, and permissions from Brevo for Access Reviews.
  • Automated Tests: Runs automated checks that evaluate Brevo against your applicable compliance frameworks.

Prerequisites

  • An active Brevo account
  • Admin access in Brevo, so that Scrut can retrieve organization-level user data

Permissions and Access Requirements

For Brevo (Sendinblue)

  • Admin access is recommended. Accounts without admin access may not be able to generate an API key or return the full list of organization users.

For Scrut

  • Admin access to Scrut (or Contributor with access to the Integration module).

Sync Frequency

Data syncs automatically every 24 hours. You can also manually trigger a sync from the integration settings page.

Integration Setup

Step 1: Generate an API Key in Brevo

  1. Log in to your Brevo account.
  2. Click your profile icon in the top-right corner and select SMTP & API.
  3. Click the API Keys tab.
  4. Click Generate API key.

  5. Enter a descriptive name for the key, such as Scrut Integration.
  6. Set the expiry date.
  7. Click Generate.
  8. Copy the API key and store it securely.

Note: Brevo displays the API key only once. Copy it before you close the window. If you lose it, you need to generate a new key.

Step 2: Connect Brevo in Scrut

  1. Log in to Scrut and navigate to Integrations.
  2. Click the Integrations Library tab.
  3. Search for Brevo (Sendinblue), or select Miscellaneous under Categories.
  4. Click Integrate on the Brevo (Sendinblue) card.
  5. (Optional) Under Owner, click + to assign an owner for the integration.
  6. Under Credentials, paste the API key from Step 1 into the API Key field.
  7. Click Submit.

What Happens Next?

Initial Data Sync

The initial data sync begins automatically after you submit the API key. To monitor the sync status, open the Brevo integration page and click the Audit Log tab.

Review Synced Data

  • Navigate to People → Access Reviews to view Brevo users and their roles when you set up an access review.
  • Navigate to the Tests section in Scrut to view the automated test results for Brevo.
